Through the Ontario Infrastructure Academy (OIA), ORBA is building on the momentum of the ORBA Road Building Academy—an initiative that laid the groundwork for sector-specific, high-quality training. That foundation has demonstrated both the demand and the value of industry-led workforce development tailored to infrastructure. Endorsed by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) and funded in part by the Government of Canada, Employment Ontario, and the Government of Ontario, the OIA represents a formalized, scalable extension of that pilot—designed to meet today’s labour demands and tomorrow’s infrastructure ambitions.

This ORBA Webinar Series is brought to you by the Ontario Asphalt Expert Task Group. The Ontario Asphalt Expert Task Group has put together a review of international practices used to produce high-reclaimed asphalt product (RAP) asphalt mixtures. As green procurement strategies become more important, RAP usage will become one of our industry’s biggest tools for reducing carbon emissions. RAP itself represents a valuable tool that can be used to improve the quality of asphalt pavements when used appropriately.
This webinar will look at the high RAP experiences of different international research groups and owners/agencies including Japan, Sweden, Florida, Minnesota, Wisconsin and several others. The examples set out by these different groups will provide Ontario with direction on how we can not only implement higher RAP contents into our mixtures but also alleviate performance concerns with our standard RAP usage.
